Simon Morrish founded Xlinks in 2019 to build towards the concept of ‘One World, One Sun, One Grid’ – quite literally.

The demand for electricity continues to rise at an unprecedented rate, owing to rapidly growing industries of mass consumption. It is crucial for countries to get ahead of the curve and meet this demand, doing so with renewable sources.

That combination of more, clean power and the timeframes in which it is needed creates a real challenge for governments.

Hence the need to see the world as one grid; the sun is always shining and wind is always blowing somewhere. That is why connecting centres of abundant supply to areas of high demand, through a global grid, will prove crucial in the world’s Net Zero transition.

We believe that generating power in areas with substantial renewable resources, and transporting it via subsea intercontinental cables that wrap around the globe, is the way to do this.
